The accountant is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day financial operations of the company, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal policies and external regulations. The role involves managing cash and bank-related matters, recording transactions, and supporting the Senior Accountant and Finance Manager with various accounting tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Receipt and Payment Management
- Prepare receipt and payment vouchers promptly and accurately.
- Ensure proper documentation and approvals are in place for all financial transactions.
- Cash and Bank Handling
- Manage daily cash transactions
- Handle banking activities, including deposits, withdrawals, and reconciliations.
- Collect monthly bank statements and reconcile them with company records.
- Accounts Receivable and Payable
- Register accounts receivable and payable accurately in the system.
- Issue invoices to customers and process bill payments for vendors.
- Reporting
- Prepare sales reports and other financial summaries as required.
- Verify vouchers against purchase orders (POs) for accuracy.
- Audit Support
- Assist with external audits by providing necessary documentation.
- Transaction Recording
- Record financial transactions accurately in the Odoo system.
- Other Duties
- Handle ad-hoc tasks as assigned by the Finance Manager.
Qualifications
- A bachelor degree and LCCI Level 3 (or equivalent)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping.
- Familiarity with Odoo or similar accounting software is an advantage
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
- High level of integrity
